Zoology provides an overview of animal life including cell organization, genetics, evolution, diversity, anatomy and physiology, and the interaction of animals with their environments. Special emphasis is placed on invertebrates. Highlights of the course include hands-on experimental labs, including dissections, guest speakers, and the opportunity to earn a certificate of completion from the City of Santa Rosa Bioassessment of Local Creeks Program.

Zoology is an elective course typically taken in a student's junior or senior year. The prerequisite is successful completion of two years of high school science.
